I was wondering if anyone could offer some advice. I am looking to get one of my transparencies printed, and was wondering if anyone knows of somewhere in London I can get a high-res scan made for a print approx 20'x16' ? Had a look at Metro Imaging, but they are quite expensive, and was looking to get it printed at maybe Print Space, but don't think they actually do scans themselves? Cheers.

You can hire the Flextight scanner at Printspace and get them to print it...
Maybe take your own laptop for cleaning it up so you don't get rinsed.

Cheers, have you used them for printing before?
-
• #12733
Yup. They're utterly brilliant for printing and the prices are good. 2hr turnaround is nice as well...

Was looking at their prices, and they seemed pretty reasonable. Thanks, may just do it that way.

Although looking at it, they charge £35/hour for scanning and I only need to scan the one image. Will definitely use them for the printing though.

Try a couple of the early carboot sales in spring.
Ask old people who have long forgotten about their obsolete cameras, people who shot film v1.0

The Olympus xa is a good alternative to an mju2. The Fuji dl super mini (better known as a Fuji tiara online) is awesome too and a bit of a sleeper, if you can find one.
Both can be had for next to nothing if you go digging

DL Super Mini is very rarely found in Europe.
Please holler if you see one for "next to nothing", I hardly ever see one under 100. -

Cheers! I'll drop in next week.

i found one in the local free ads a few years ago for £12, got lucky though admittedly. boot fairs are great for old cameras. ive got piles of mju I cameras for £1 a throw, lots of olympus trips, kodak retina and retinette cameras for a few ££, lomo cameras for 50p.
they are out there, just not online.
