  • What kind of flat bar lever do I need for an Avid BB7?

Any, unless you got BB7 Road, then a road specific flat bar levers is needed.

  • Not actually sure what I've got, I'll have to check tomorrow.

That's part of what I needed to know I guess, whether there were road and MTB specific BB7s

  • What kind of flat bar lever do I need for an Avid BB7?

    Road lever for a BB7-Road, MTB lever for a BB7-MTB :)

There are loads of acceptable lever options, in Shimano the road ones have model names starting BL-R (e.g. Ultegra quality is BL-R780) and the long-pull ones come under trekking now so they start BL-T (e.g. XT quality is BL-T780).

  • What's Greenwich like?

A client has asked us to come up for mince pies etc on Thursday and Mrs CYOA is having lunch with some friends in town on Saturday so am thinking of AirBnBing with a day-trip around Greenwich on the Friday. Worth it? Never been to the observatory/naval college etc. Can we fill a day there? Nice places for lunch/dinner etc?

  • You still got the Euros? Keep them. Otherwise place on Camden Road.

  • It's got a fair bit to do, a very middle class covered market, the Royal Naval College, the National Maritime Museum, the Cutty Sark, the Royal Observatory plus the park. There's also a fan museum (which isn't worth visiting). There are loads of cafes and restaurants too, a decent mix of chains and some good independents. Some good pubs too.

It'll be heaving though, it gets very busy on the Saturdays leading up to Christmas.

  • Ta for this - though in fairness you had me at fan museum.

  • My daughters loved it, but they are nearly 7 and 4. I missed it, sadly.

  • Walkable from Greenwich (maybe not with kids) is Mudchute Farm on the Isle of Dogs.

    I love Mudchute Farm.

I'd go Mudchute -> Foot Tunnel -> Maritime Museum/Cutty Sark or something -> Market for snacks and tat -> Old pie shop (can't remember the name) -> Nice pub

  • Had a long weekend there this time last year (Premier Inn booked well in advance, so reasonable rates) - got lucky with the weather so did a longish walk by the river - even so, didn't do everything @andyp suggests. TBF Mrs. E. reads most things so the Royal Observatory and Maritime Museum needed most of a day. Highlight for me was the Harrison timepieces. Will go back when time and funds allow.

tl;dr one day might not be enough.

  • 45 metres above sea level is not a fucking big hill.

  • Mudchute Farm is rubbish! Say the same nearly 7 and 4 year olds who love that kind of thing. Not very many animals, crap cafe, no petting zone.

  • I have/had the KOM on the biggest hill in my home town...

    It was 44 seconds.

  • Hello knowledgeable people of LUFGUSS,
I have a 6800 groupset. Can I transfer it over to a frame with disc brakes and use the shifters to operate cable pull brakes?

Yes, the recommended calipers are BR-R317, BR-R517 or BR-CX77.

  • It's a mountain to Damo.
