  • Can anyone recommend me a rucksack? A big one for carrying gym kit? Needs to be big enough to carry some trainers, boxing gloves, spare clothes and a big D lock. Would like it have a mesh / foamy back so it doesn't get sweaty on my back when riding it around. I have a 30L dhb thing but its too small with too many bloody compartments that make it useless.

  • I've been getting on ok with my Ortlieb Velocity. It's just a big single compartment, foam back, I removed the hip strap and will probably remove the chest strap so it's just a basic backpack. I've got the small one and use it to carry shoes, clothes, etc. Depending on how many clothes you might consider the bigger one. Paid maybe £65? I think.

  • Access to Covent Garden and the myriad of Outdoor Activity shops?
I would suggest you look for those with the 'waterproof' zips where hardly any of the teeth are showing. I also prefer at least smaller external zipped compartment for the everyday carry items.

  • The new big alpkit one looks nice. Relatively good value too.

  • I've always liked my Alpkit Gourdon. But that's obviously too small from your description. They have a new bag at 45 litres though:
