I never see that on customer's bike, unless you meant the chainstay, in which case is usually down to incorrect tyres (Marathon Plus).

Well just from a couple of test folds and unfolds there was a big black rubber mark on the BB shell where the still spinning rear tyre hits it when it's folded.

Thats with the standard Brompton tyres, got a set of marathon greenguards cheap to go on there next.

Usually you would pull the brake before folding it.
