Evans seem to have an endless ex-demo stock of Brompton seat posts, just keep an eye on that section and a black version should appear eventually

Are you a woman Ed?
Wouldn't you like to know.

Dibs (seriously)

I'll see how long it takes me to get bored of it and then come give you a shout when I'm done! @umop3pisdn
It could have titanium or carbon everything by then and may or may not weigh less than 7kg

Standard #dickpreciation applies?

Finally got my Brompton! SPDs on, bits of helicopter tape in various places, aftermarket minimods 80kg+ suspension fitted.
Got some ergo grips to maybe put on (really cheap ones from ebay), looking at it next to my proper bike I'm kinda worried that the straight bar will be too low... Could always pop some risers on there I guess.
Going back to Cyclesurgery next week to swap the silver telescopic post for a black one they're ordering in.

I have checked, you'd need to spend serious money (equal to another Brompton) just to get to 8kg.
Not worth it, just make it better by maybe having extended seatpost, frimer suspension, maybe pedals etc.

Brompton's paint are massively tough, however cable rub can occur, did you put the tape on where the cable is touching near the bottom bracket?

1st thing I did - Look keo blade carbon TI - its down to 7.2kg already just by changing the pedals......

• #2367
By making sure it won't fold I bet.
-
• #2368
Not yet, will have to do that! Got some on bottom of BB shell where the wheel rubs when it's folded.

• #2369
I never see that on customer's bike, unless you meant the chainstay, in which case is usually down to incorrect tyres (Marathon Plus).

• #2370
So I think a Brompton is going to be in my very near future - ideally Cycle to Work scheme in January. I think I want an S1L - how's best to go about this?
-
• #2371
This thread from page 1 is a good start
-
• #2372
Oh i've done my research - I just want validation and Scoble to do me a discount at Evans St Pauls.
-
• #2373
Nah, go fixed. You know you want to...
-
• #2374
110mm OLN with no change in tension when unfolded right?
-
• #2375
Don't fucking go fixed, small wheel + fixed made for bad bedfellow.
Thanks! I'll check that out... 😃
