I worked at a restaurant for a time and one of the chefs was going out after work. He'd brought the jeans he was going to wear that night in to work but they'd been in the wash and they were still damp.
He'd heard about people drying their undies in the microwave so he folded up his jeans, set the industrial microwave for ten minutes, then left the room.
The fire alarm went off.
I heard screaming.
I ran into the part of the kitchen where French pastry chef worked and found him trying to drag the blazing jeans from the oven. He was screaming because the chef whose jeans were in the oven was about to chuck a bucket of water over the blazing industrial strength microwave oven.
We stopped him just in time.
And yes, he was sacked.
