  • Stays need trimming obvs, and haven't done rear yet. Flaps ordered.

  • Much shiny. So flash. Wow!

  • Final form. A higher plane of functional existence. Front derailleur now fouls on the mudguard but i'll deal with that later.

  • nice .. how painful was it to install guards?

  • Not very painful to be honest. I needed new stays for the front and the bridge mount on the rear was a bit of a faff, but overall pretty easy. Less faff than the SKS that I put on Mrs upsidedown's bike last week.

  • ok now weigh it .. for teh lols

  • Next year I think.

  • 10.9kg. Or pretty much exactly double my hillclimb bike.

  • Very very decent indeed. Hopefully the crank rats up a bit though, looks very conspicuous with the matte finish

  • A bike only a mother could love...

    Very functional mind.

  • Looks absolutely great to be honest!

  • Mmm, yeah it does stand out. I don't think the chunky chainrings help tbh.

I'd prefer a 48t outer but I'm not sure Shimano make one.

    This

Looks absolutely great to be honest!

    Hmmm.....

  • Looks great - sorry if it's been mentioned, but what guards are these?

  • Gilles Berthoud

  • Tidy bit of mudguard setup there!

  • Awesome. Better than all the stealth yawnfests. Flap game is strong

  • Fluo mudflaps because why the fuck not :)

  • Now that this has been posted on reddit I can safely post it in the anti-porn thread...

  • Proportions are good; component selection is appropriate; only knock on it is the colour mismatching.

  • The problem - 50t outer chainring is too big, I like to sit at around 105rpm and this means I'm spending too much time at the top(bottom?) of the cassette.

The solution - smaller outer chainring.

The options - BBB or TA for a ring to fit my current cranks, or curveball:

Shimano CX chainset. Would need to switch out the 36t for a 34t but that's easy (cheap) enough with 5 arm cranks.

Thoughts? I would probably be happy dropping to a slightly smaller little ring - is there some sort of weirdo Scoble 46/32 crankset out there?

  • Sugino OX series? 110bcd arms with additional 74bcd inner mounts for chainrings down to 26t

  • Forgot to say, cheap is also a priority.
