  • Defintely a normal cartridge bearing headset will fit, incidentally been discuss recently on the forum too.

  • No need to be borrowing wheels, a pic or idea of clearance with the 23c would also give me a good enough idea. Regarding headset, knowing it takes a Mindset is all the info I needed. As for forks, will probably source a 3T funda. Have some other 3T finishing bits in bin so would contemplate. Group will be mixed Sram 10sp, wheels something cheap.

  • added bartape, pedal straps and saddle cover (all NOS from early eighties). Cable housing that came with these things seemed to be lemon yellow while all the other things are egg yellow. Will use grey cable housing I guess.

  • wow^

    cleaned my camera...

  • That Gios is perfect. Can't work out what I like more, that or your Charlie Olga TT. Well done sir.

  • thanks Jambon :)

  • Doesn't look too bad at the brake, but the chainstays and seat tube/mech clamp could be tight... maybe 5mm either side of the tyre here

  • Putting together my HH but unfortunately it has a internal seatpost clamp that is not clamping So kind of pointless. I've been searching the net for a replacement but struggling to find a match. Was hoping that one you fine people could help me out on maybe getting it to work again. Maybe by filing the clamps?

2nd picture is what the clamp looks like.

  • go n get some lathed to your needs.

  • That would be nice but have no idea where they do things like that in London.

  • it has a internal seatpost clamp that is not clamping

    Not clamping how?

If the two halves are meeting in the middle before they apply any force to the seat post, it's probably because the bore holding the clamping parts has pushed away from the seat tube. It might only take a small shim to re-establish contact.

  • Sold Crux cross bike, bought Ritchey Swiss Cross canti frameset, removed 6800 from my CAAD10, converted to 1x11 using wolftooth chainring built up at work when quiet the other day
DA9000 series purchased for CAAD for when winter shuffles off its mortal coil

  • That's probably what has happened. The two halves are wore so they are clamping but just not enough. You think that just making a shim from a can tin, cutting it the same shape as the halves should do the trick?

  • Those are some nice upgrades! The Swiss Cross looks almost as iconic as the flag itself. Bar angle looks a bit off though

  • You know what, I just thought the same having seen that pic. Not sure if it may be angle of the camera or not quite setup right.

  • You think that just making a shim from a can tin, cutting it the same shape as the halves should do the trick?

The shim needs to sit on the bevelled faces, might be tricky to get it to stay there while you're assembling everything but it has to be worth a try before setting off down any more expensive roads.

  • Agreed 110%, thanks

  • Is there enough material in the two bits for you to file it to fit?

Not an expert on this and tester is probably your best man since he's been machining loads of custom stuff.

  • I was thinking to file the bevelled faces so that they where smooth again and then the inside of each halve to make them smaller so that when I thighten them it will clamp tighter. But the shim is a much better idea just need to make it fit as @mdcc_tester mentioned.

  • Looks nice, got pics of the whole frame?

  • Front mudguard and Lumotec light still need to be mounted.
