Tempted to get the router and link it to my Airports... my Talk Talk POS can't be delivering the best speeds...

The key thing...
The EdgeMax Router... every ethernet port is a physically distinct network.
Meaning a distinct IP range on each port.
i.e.
Eth1 = 192.168.1.1-192.168.1.255
Eth2 = 192.168.2.1-192.168.2.255Typically, you want a switch after the EdgeMax so that you run a single network if you expect devices attached to different WiFi access points to talk to each other.
If you are all Mac, and that is using Bonjour or other auto-discovery stuff... then you do want everything on the same network.
