I do this on a regular basis now, all it takes is some scratching and little bits of tape.
+1 for Portra 400 - it really is good film, and you can shoot it rated ISO 100 to 1600 basically.

vista 200 gives vivid colours and is a useful speed for most outdoor stuff. It's good.
Being somewhere as interesting as Thailand I would be tempted by Ektar / Precisa by day and Delta 3200 by night.

Hah — cheers! I couldn't decide so I've ordered Portra 400, Ektar 100 and Vista 200 so will see what gives the best results!

Love that last 3 shot pano, awesome!
The D3 really needs good light to shine, I've taken so many average shots on mine.

thanks @mi7rennie @q2f436g56hij7224wr5ßl´6ö
I tried a load of panoramas but most weren't good, maybe the viewfinder is not as accurate as I'd thought, I overlapped them all too much... this one worked a bit better plus of course it was great light -

I've just found this page useful to any MjuII shooters who want to know how their cam's gonna behave.
You can always hack the iso dx codes but only if you want to shoot a whole roll at that speed.
