Would like to buy myself a new auto and I'm well aware that it's nearing sale season...What are the recommended retailers for me to be looking at?

Sorry, not sure what you mean by Mark X. I've had it, and the Longines, for over 50 years; bought in the days when ex-WD stock was being sold off. If it's any help here is the underside.

Jesus Christ. Just saw a 30,000,000 CHF necklace in a shop next to the Patek museum!

I've had various WWWs pass through my hands, but never collected a set. I'm a fan of the Omegas and would like an IWC (aka the Mk. 10) but have never seen one in the flesh.

Nice Mk11. I paid £65 for mine! Your crown appears to be from a '56 (eg. Omega or Longines). Let me know if you ever decide to sell or want to trade.

Really like that - still have an IWC itch that I hope to scratch around my 30th

With christmas coming up, anybody got a hint for something vintage Omega-esque on a budget for my lady?
Not fussed about year or originality, just want something that looks good and works.Thanks.

Today's lolwant is a classy affair -

^some of the more restrained versions of that look quite nice IMHO, but they're utterly unreadable in the dark/bright sunlight/reflective conditions and so fail at basic watchness.

Any love for Farer? British designed, Swiss made, the company is a year old but the designs are firmly planted in the 20th century, evoking Rolex, Smiths, Universal Geneve etc. designs of that era, while managing not to specifically ape any one design (as far as I can see, at any rate). Lots of little splashes of colour keep them from feeling too conservative, and you can pick from a selection of straps. For me, the quartz GMT is the one I keep going back to look at, although they do automatics as well.

Good to see another English watch company (even if they're not made here yet) but i struggle to get on with their design.
I've never been a fan of Arabic numerals on a watch and two sets is too many for me. Also, having red, yellow and blue on the same face is too fussy for me, especially when you add the gold crown which seems completely unnecessary. They could do with just keeping it simple.

Not many English brands producing anything decent unfortunately. (Not just watches) :oP
Easy to see through a lot of modern 'Dezeen' dros imo.

Ha! I used to work with Marcus Fairs, great laugh, pain in the arse to work with back then... Good times, making money hand over fist... He's done alright for himself...

Woof! Lovely. Do you have the bracelet, or just prefer it on leather? It looks great on the strap.

I have the bracelet but took it straight off and put it in the (huge!) box, prefer the strap.

Amazing! Nice one.
Dang, forgot about that...
