Black rims for my Langster?

Posted on
  • Had a Madone 2.1 stolen the other day and will be getting a fixie this week, never rode one but why not.

I liked the black rims from a Cannondale Bad Boy Hybrid 2016, would they fit? Or anything similar?

I am thinking to sell the Langster's ones, and buy these ones instead if they fit.

  • Badboy is 26 inch right? Langster is 700c. Badboy wheels have internal gearhub or a freehub body.

I think, if I understand you right, the answer is no.

  • I don't know, looked on the website and it says: "Rims
Cannondale C2 Bad Boy, double wall, 32-hole". Also seen the Cannondale in the store this morning and they looked pretty thin to me, didn't think they're mountain bike wheels!

  • The Bad Boy wheels are the same size, but completely incompatible with the Langster.

They're disc brake rims with a freehub body on - they will not fit the Langster.

If you're after this, then the wheels that come with the bike are just fine for a beginner and about as black as you can get without spending silly money on carbon wheels.

  • I am looking to get the blue one mainly because of the color and cowhorn (or bluehorn?) bar.

Just wanted to personalise it a bit really and thought some black/darker rims (without that circle on them), removing the bar white rubber, etc, would do the job.

  • Bullhorn.

If you're going to be running brakes then the black will wear off anyway. If not then just paint/sharpie/electrical tape them.

  • Yes @Dry, Bullhorn I meant :). Specialised advertise them as Cowhorn but I guess it's the same thing.

You're right, will get it as it is.

    Thanks everyone!
