As above - small shelves or stands for speakers, a surface for the laptop to sit on and dynamat under the surface.
You can buy isolation pads for bookshelf/computer speakers to sit on but they might not be enough for such a resonant surface.

buy another desk.
The expense of second desk, will be about the cost of all other alternatives to isolate everything.. -

I'm with Corny.
but I think i'll try and make it work first though. Can't wall mount as it's stud and plasterboard only and my (active) monitors weigh a ton. Which is annoying because I have a set of Q Acoustic wall-mounts sitting unused. These are up for grabs if anyone fancies btw.
My first attempt is going to be an anti-vibration rubber mat (intended for a washing machine) trimmed to size under a under a pile of bricks, topped with isolating foam pads.
Going to put foam pad under the iMac too.

Ps3 have an optical out with various encoding. Get something like a Cambridge audio azur av amp £50/100 then spend rest on speakers.
Half of Ps3 are sacd drives in them and sound fair good even if not.
Then get a little USB dac from Amazon, £30 for everything else. -

Cheers everyone. He's got a setup now, he found a deal on a CA amp & CD player on eBay, and bought some speakers (not sure what though).
Now my Quad 303 is misbehaving. Not sure why, will video it when it next happens.

So I unpacked my monitors and set them up on foam mounts on the clangy desk. Stood the iMac on a velvet pad. Plugged in my Apogee Duet, connected up one monitor and... appear to have only packed one speaker cable. wtf? how? where could the other one POSSIBLY be? In with the Christmas decorations? Ffffff...

Is there some kind of Bluetooth transmitter I can pop in the headphones jack of my stereo to stream records from the lounge to a Bluetooth speaker elsewhere in the house?
-
• #3443
Loads, bluetooth doesn't travel that far so needs to be fairly nearby https://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=bluetooth+transmitter&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Abluetooth+transmitter

I found a couple of these Sony Super Metal Master tapes that I got from Richer Sounds dirt cheap many many years ago in a box and wondered if there was a market for these sort of artifacts and by golly there is.

Sony Super Metal Master tapes
People are weird. Flog 'em and treat yourself to something useful.
can you stick a load of dynamat acoustic damping sheets to the insides/underneath of it (the table rather than speakers)?
