  • Must resist, looks like it's a 56. Surprised it's still around at that price too.

edit: do have a Hi-Mod fork that's got enough steerer for a 56 should anyone snap this up #spam

  • Show me the shifting!

  • I did see that, he says it's stamped as a 58 though.

  • Yours/mine is a 58

  • You shrink when you get older.

  • You buy a german car when you get older.

    FTFY.

  • I'm going through a phase of 56's, that's what the caad 12 is, and the Synapse I am riding this week

  • TBF, the geometry is different from the old CAAD10/SuperSix/SystemSix.

Plus the Synapse have a massive headtube.

  • @dammit Has the caad12 got any of the issues of the caa10 disc or were they all ironed out? Is there any reason not to get the frameset above as the gf's new bike?

  • What issues did the Caad 10 disc have?

  • Hose / Cable routing through the BB wasn't popular

  • Did they sort the bb30 out and replace it with a non shit BB standard?

  • Caad 10 track at Sigma discounted

  • 1) BB cable routing is a PITA
    2) BB30 is also shit
    3) the chainstay routing to rear disc caliper is also a bit wacky. works fine with hydros (although it is a fucking pain to bleed), but wont work with TRP HY/RDs well..

Saying that, I do love my caaddisc - its a really great bike, even if the BB creaks in warm weather. When I inevitably move to another disc road bike I want thru axles front and back though

  • Hose / Cable routing through the BB wasn't popular

Exactly like the Cannondale Synpase alu, which incidentally still retain that awful design.

Fortuantely the CAAD Optimo Disc is much better at this.

  • Did they sort the bb30 out and replace it with a non shit BB standard?

They're not gonna drop it now that they have spend years (almost a decades) mouthing off the benefit of BB30 only to have their frames poorly made (even unfaced) to make it work properly.

Specialized on the other hands, sensibility drop a lots of BB30 from their 2017 bicycles in favour of threaded bottom bracket except for the higher end model.

  • Cannondale aficionados, any ideas what this might be worth? As is but with cheap Fir wheels rather than the Flos. Ultegra 6500 group, 6600 cranks.

It's old and well used but rare and has that sweet paintjob

  • Did they sort the bb30 out and replace it with a non shit BB standard?

Most of the frames are BB30a or 73mm press fit now and finished with in house cranks. So if you didn't like BB30 you aren't going to like the modern stuff.

  • £500-£600 on a good day. You might have to wait for someone who really wants that paint to get that kinda figure tho.

  • Also the new FSA BB30 chainset are now designed to fit both BB30 and threaded bottom bracket (aptly named BB386EVO).

  • any BB30 tools going cheap in blackfriday sales? same for hollowgram tools.. worth a shot

  • my gf has bought a super six hi mod for herself (!), which I'm going to go and pick up on Sunday. It's the 2014 gulf version. Is there anything I should look out for other than the obvious? Were they notorious for any issues?

the seller says the bb30 is fine, but obviously check that.

  • The whole rear brake cable routing is a pain...

  • I think the 2014 version is all external

  • yeah 2014 hi mod should be external i thought
