Had snow at Tredegar yesterday for R9 of the Welsh CX league. Arrived just after the kids finished their races - HQ full of CX youthsters, crying their eyes out and trying to get warm.
Lovely course with a mix of flat concrete/tarmac and MTB woodland terrain. All going well until the last lap when my brakes decided to give up, resulting in a major off through brambles and ending with a heavy head smash onto a hidden rock. Managed to remount and finish covered in mud & blood pouring out of my bonce.
Followed this with 4 hours in A&E: 3 hours waiting for a guy to spend 10 minutes stitching up my gash, then another hour waiting for a nurse to spend 20 seconds doing a tetanus injection. Lots of time to reflect......
