Have we ever used the lhbpa cash to buy a beer tab before? Seems a bit of a crap use of cash, we are all adults and can all pay for our own beer. How much did you have in mind?
Personally I don't have any problem with cash being used for pizzas or something, but you don't get much beer for your money

Yes we used LHBPA cash for the bar tab at Canopy after people came along to dismantle the court at HH. There were probably about a dozen of us there and we drank about £200 worth of beer iirc. I was thinking somewhere along the same amount for this time around. I think it's important to fund social events - after all if we were having a tournament then we'd have to book a room somewhere afterwards for the topless dancing, which would cost money. There's no tournament this time obviously, but we can still have the social in its absence. I think a court is a long way off now, even if HH get it going (their mind is on other things with the new pavilion there), so I think the money that's been raised from corporate events could go to funding a social, even if it just translates into a beer or two for each person. I'm not of a mind to get into a big back and forth about it though if people disagree strongly.
It's nice in theory to have cash for courts, but it's also nice to organise events that bring us together for social occasions. We raise money from advertising and corporate events, I think it's good to put some of that back into something that brings the community together, even if that is only chips and beer.
