10s Shimano road shifters will work with a 9s Shimano mtb derailleur though, even in combination with a 10s cassette

All except newer Tiagra 4700 - changed the pull ratio for that gruppo

I don't think shimano got mech with clutch on 9 speed Mtb groups though.

@jambon you would likely have to use cable pull adapter and use 10 speed Mtb mech.
