  • I kid you not, I've got my stove on tonight, it's running at 700degrees at the flue, and I came back in the room ten mins ago and a piece of wood that I'd previously stacked either side of the stove had fallen against the stove. I thought it was a bit odd there was a bit of a wood smell in the room, and saw a piece had fallen against the body of the stove and it was smouldering away, I.e part of it had started to burn.

    No harm done (I am genuinely not making this up) but if any of that big stack falls agains the flue, then you could have a very large smouldering pile of wood rather than the single piece I had tonight.
