Hi for the cost of the uPVC door why do you not just replace the plastic roof multi-sheet units generate a lot less noise.
uPVC is a pretty crappy material for doors and £350 is very cheap so not likely to last

So the rain noise from my new plastic roof is still waking me up. Existing french doors on the bedroom leading on to that area don't help. Flimsy and not particularly pretty.
Is this a terrible idea? £350 UPVC external french doors from wickes or similar... get glazing company across the road to knock me up a 400mm or so fanlight glazed panel. Fit myself. quieter, warmer bedroom for £under £500.
