  • Yay. It's Screason again.

First in - Secret life of pets - but hoping for some more exciting offerings over the next couple of weeks.

  • Screason!!!

  • Huh, secret life of pets was out months ago, wasn't it?

  • dOH I HATED bLACK mASS.

  • Possibly. It's more that it is the harbinger of all the other movies to come that I never got round to seeing this year.

  • Would watch...
Ir fun seeing impossible to make live action films (like Dr Strange)

  • Arrival was brilliant.

Felt like when you play chess against someone really good and halfway through the game you realise they've positioned all these pieces without you knowing that all come together at once. A single line prompted me to audibly swear as it all fell in to place.

    Loved it.

  • Random question. Does anyone know of a list showing which Marvel characters appear in which films. Wikipedia groups them (e.g. all Captain America films a re grouped together) but I'm looking for film by film. Cheers

  • Cheers, looks a bit convoluted but I think the info is probably there. Obviously I didn't anticipate Wikipedia having two separate pages for characters in Marvel movies.

  • That is great news about Arrival. I am now officially very excited about seeing it.

  • I too am excited about seeing it but stupidly booked to see that fucking harry potter spin off thing on Saturday because the wife wants to go and see it and she was a bit upset yesterday.

Maybe I can fit another cinema trip in on Sunday...

  • In other film news, today I met John Waters, who was really friendly (and surprisingly tall).
He was wearing an awesome purple checked suit, which basically only John Waters or The Joker could get away with.

  • You're wrong.

    But well jelly. Context?

  • He was visiting the House of Lords. It was teatime, so I assume the context involved cake of some sort.

  • Amazing love john walters, and in film news he has just done the vo on a graff film called Wall Writers

  • I assume the context involved cake of some sort

But as it was John Waters, you should probably assume the cake had dog poop in it.

  • HyperNormalisation was very engrossing. The UFO conspiracy bit though?...

  • La La Land last night, didn't know I would be watching it and I don't like musicals but this is a very fun old fashioned Hollywood romance, some of the musical numbers did grate but still highly enjoyable. The JK Simmons cameo is a highlight.

Also worth mentioning I saw it at the revamped Everyman cinema in Muswell Hill. If you're a fan of art deco then this is worth a venture out to view. Make sure you book a film showing in the main auditorium (they have 3 screens)

  • Cinema looks fantastic!

BTW we have a art deco survivor cinema in Belfast:

  • Adding another plus to Arrival. Really enjoyed it.

  • Think I'm going tonight.

    Yay.

  • Enjoyed Streetcat named Bob, quite a story
