Following up on my post from the last page regarding my neighbours Akita. My partner contacted the Akita rescue guys and they were very helpful, have come to see the dog and are happy to rehome him if Ruben decides he's ready to do that.
So thanks to those of you who recommended them, we were under the impression that they wouldn't take him but going back to them and looking at the situation carefully they were able to help.
When they visited they gave a lot of good advice and reassured Ruben that he's doing very well with him anyway so he may not rehome him after all!
