  • Meh, there's much worse people. He's made a boat load of cash by just having charisma and being naturally funny while playing video games, the ones I really hate are when it is really forced by grade A arseholes like this guy. https://www.youtube.com/user/NewDramaAlert. Youtube, for when a racist, sexist, prick with low grade aspergers wants to try and make some money because no one will hire them.

  • charisma

  • These kind of people need to be rounded up, lined up in front of a wall, and shot.
Most internet people should share the same fate.
    Most people.
    Just people.

  • I've built an arcade cab using a Raspberry Pi, getting some of the mame emulators to work with arcade controls can take a bit of work but getting console emulators working through emulation station is pretty straight forward. I really like the look of the the NES Classic but if you're willing to put in a little effort it's way better to to go the Pi route, that way you can have Snes and megadrive games too. The main thing is downloading the correct rom packs for your chosen emulator.

Check out Floob on youtube, really good tutorials on retropie and emulators https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdSu9Y0xAyY8V77vj6mQ-0g/videos

  • well 15 year old girls seem to like him

Yeah. There seem to be a lot of options out there on the ROM and emulator end. Any tips here?

Ill be giving it a go.

  • i'm in.

    /starts youtube channel.

  • Tbh, mame roms are the problematic ones, for the console emulators just torrent search for NES/Snes etc roms and look for collections, you can use sites like http://www.doperoms.com/toproms.php?system=super%20nintendo%20snes to download individual roms to test but you want a collection with all the roms organised.

Use this site https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/Nintendo-Entertainment-System to go through emulators and find the recommended ones to choose, if you go for a Pi 3 you can run pretty much all of the console emulators without issue.

Oh and to add, you should get a Pi 3 even if you don't need the extra power, the fact that it has built in wifi makes transferring roms way easier.

  • PewDiePie said very nice things about the last big game I worked on so he's ok in my book.

  • TLOU remastered came with my ps4 but I had recently completed it on ps3 so haven't played it yet. I was thinking about giving it another crack as I've forgotten quite a bit about the plot by now and read about the new grounded difficulty, no HUD at all, no R1 to listen through walls, everything can basically 2 hit kill you, barely any supplies with the knock on effect of only having only enough shivs to open locked doors or kill clickers, clicker AI has been ramped up a bit and just sneaking super slowly won't work any more and way less checkpoints. Sounds good but basically masochistic, I think it would ultimately kill the game for me as I can imagine countless reloads of the same level after countless 'so near yet so far' moments. Even some reviewers who gleefully lapped up survivor mode say it's a bit much

  • I have it on PC. Get a (mostly) solid 60fps, 1080p on very high settings. It chunks occasionally, but the next patch should solve that.

I use controller, but not playing it as fps but stealth and sat on my sofa.

  • Can anyone explain why if I got to my local games shop - or ebay - I can pick up a second hand game for say £15-20. But if I look at it on the xbox store it's £60! I don't understand. Surely they would want to encourage digital sales?

  • I was walking by a CEX the other day and they had SNES games for sale at £15!

    lolz

  • Yeah well they are considered 'collectable', just like Dreamcast games hold their value pretty well. These are xbox one games that are a year old!

  • Jesus, I've got about 15 over in Ireland with a console, bought them about 10 years ago for about £40...

  • Check ebay. OG Mazzakart still gets cash.

  • You'd have thought so right?

The price of digital games is still astounding.

Although if you game share (I'm sure there's people on this forum who'd want to join you) digital games prices are much more paliatable.

Also keep an eye on the weekly sales. There's a big Black Friday (week?) kicking off this weekend.

  • Oh yeah? That could be expensive. The game in question I was talking about (although seen the problem with other games I'm interested in) was Diablo 3. Cause having it on my mac isn't enough. Though I hear the multiplayer on one screen works well.

Any other recommendations? I need to work through Battlefield 1 and Tomb Raider first, tempted by GTA 5 at some point. Is Rocket league that good?

  • Rocket League is the definitive "just one more round" game. Can't you get it on Steam and get a refund if you don't like it before two hours are up?

  • I really wasn't taken by rocket league. Too cartoony for my liking.
Tempted to give fallout 4 another bash now I have reinstalled windows and somehow lost all my games saves...

  • Just bought a disc copy of D3 for couch co op too :)

  • Rad. Ta. Yeah, seems like all the advice out there is to go with the 3.
