That's awesome, and pretty much what I'm trying to do with my build, although I've got serious 931 envy for sure. Thanks for posting up the details and nice to see you've opted for Shimano 5700 too, on the look out for a silver groupset at the mo!

Are the 10t jockey wheels key to running the ultegra mech with a 32t cassette? I'd love to run something similar on my Space Horse.

Yay for frogs! and great looking bike.

Cheers for the comments all! It's a great bike that's changed over time and seen a lot of miles. I ran it for a few years on 700c x 28mm with a rear rack. But only ever using one pannier to commute, I decided to equalise the load and stick it on the front after having experience of a bar bag on my other bike.
@jambon as mentioned in your thread, I'd happily go for the new Tiagra 4700 when I need to replace them. Purposely chose 10speed for the slightly wider chain and hopefully a bit more longevity than 11sp.
@hamrack it was a bit of a gamble on the 32t with the short cage mech, but it works fine. The 10t jockeys obviously give you a little more clearance to run the 32t cassette. The Sunrace purposely chosen as I think the only 12-32 ratio - I didn't want the 11t high gear, but wanted an emergency gear when lugging a load of stuff.
It crosses chain fine, but I avoid crossing the chain in to the largest 3 sprockets (but it will do it). -

Really liking this ex-Bontrager Race Lite that has been modified from the latest Bicycle Quarterly, had to share it. It's more 'underbiking' with the 26" wheels and short headtube but think it's great.

Nice. Reminds me a bit of @umop3pisdn 's bike.

Mudguard ID?
So Monsteur bikes are in then?

Look like Gilles Berthoud 26" 60mm wide

I concur, look almost identical to my 650b version too.
-
• #13468
Possibly a stupid question; but if you're running 650b x 42 in a 700c frame (like me) it's 650b mudguards you want?
-
• #13469
He looks pretty stretched, although the frame already looks way too small.

You can actually run 700c mudguard with 650b wheels as well, but a 650b mudguard would wrap the tyres more effectively.

Awesome, just what I wanted to hear. Was eyeing up Gilles Berthoud 650b ones then got an email from Velo Duo doing 15% off guards. Destiny.

• #13472
Yep except mudguards are fitted properly

Damn, that's a good pic. Bike looks awesome too. Any more? Or should I buy the magazine then? ;)

Too small really but this is the best my scanner could manage.

That's absolutely great!
So what are the obvious mods? New disc compatible fork, disc rear and braze ons for the front rack?
^ excuse the shtt picture.
Forgot TRP Spyre C too...
