Dunlop Green Flash had a resurgence in the early 00's, loads of kids in my school had them.

Not suitable for 95% of the running population.
No stability or support, minimal cushioning and little grip. i.e. good for elite <2:20 marathon runners...

Are they any good for running in?

I've used mine regularly for track sessions and are my fav. shoe in any race up to half marathon distance if it's a dry course and that's with me being around 15st.

Don't most tracks have a bit of give in them?

perfectly fine. if you want something lightweight that's not quite zero drop/barefoot style and you have a neutral gait they're perfect but will depend on what you enjoy running in.
