nice Zenith.
I just painted in the bezel markers and put in a blue AR sapphire.

nice Zenith.
my girlfriend likes it too, says it's a bit big (42mm) but I think it might be just right. I wonder, do they have a pilot like this that's not a chronograph that I might find on the second hand market. £5,200 is a bit steep for a first 'nice' watch.

Actually stunning. I'd buy one of those.
Speaking of which, I'm going to be in Switzerland three times in the next two months. What are the odds of me caving in and spending my watch fund?

Far out, that's great. Painted in bezel and saphire really set that off. Is this a technique you will be repeating? Need to go find an old Seiko to send your way.

I'd really like to pick up one of those Tintin Speedmasters, but unfortunately they seem to all be sold in the shops and now in the hands of speculators.
If anyone can spot one for sale in the US, in a shop, do please let me know. Or anywhere else come to that where the watch is not RRP+

Slowly getting to be happy with my cheap Citizen diver - was a replacement to a SKX007. Basically needed more accurate time and a bit better shock resistance. So far, this is working very well. It's in the ocean 3-4 times a week, it's been out in some very heavy swells and not failed so all is good. Maybe not the classic of a skx007 but it's functional, and the more scratches it picks up the better. Also, Eulit Perlon Strap from watchgecko is brilliant. The heavier gauge weave doesn't stretch as much as the originals so holds better in the water.
The orbis morgan rubber dive strap I had failed within a few weeks.

thanks but I think I might have decided I don't need the extra complication. I've also been told the the IWCs hold their value better. Now thinking about the Spitfire pilot or similar... My god this is difficult isn't it!?

what were you getting? my SKX013 seems a little fast, but I've flown a bit recently so...

From memory it would change depending on how active I was. I'm convinced all the vibrations from riding used to speed it up. Anywhere between 5-10 mins a week. It also stopped several times while surfing. It didn't really matter cause I'd give it a shake and it was ready to go again but I was worried the constant time adjusting would end up ruining the thread in the crown and the case end up not being water tight. Sometimes however, it seemed to hold time to within a minute or so for weeks.
Might just be me though, I seem to kill watches. Always have. But I'm probably going to buy a SRP775 - so I'm not turned off seiko at all!

Watch gecko have some leather NATOs, although I'm not that keen on the one I have.
The solar powered Seikos are good for timekeeping.

Yes Murts! I thought it looked kind of wank before, but y'know, Grandma always said if you can't say something nice then don't say anything at all. Now it's great.
