• Reynolds 531c tubing with Campagnolo dropouts, takes 700c wheels, 27.2mm seatpost and will accept a modern 9 speed rear wheel, therefore a 130mm rear hub will fit.

Anyway, the history of this frame is unclear to me, however it does have a Raleigh serial number see thread here: http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=168289

The paintwork is an eye-catching purple/white fade; chipped in places, however it's free of dents. The rear non-drive seat stay has some residue on from a sticker which will come off with a bit of elbowgrease. All threads are good, however one of the chainline adjusters is stuck, it's always been like this and i've never thought about removing however i'm sure a pair of pliers and some patience would see it removed.

From the centre of the BB to the top of the seat tube is 62cm, however don't let that put you off. I am 5'10 and the frame fitted me really well, with a lot of seatpost left to use. I have used this on about 5x 100 mile rides, cycled the hills of Bristol and the Lake District on this steed with it being used as a fixed, single speed and geared bike in the 4 years i've owned her and it's a surprisingly comfortable ride.

I am looking for £200 for the frame and forks - I will package for a courier, however I will leave it to the buyer to arrange/book the courier. Collection from Oxford welcome.

Built up as a 53/17 fixed:

  • Ok thanks. Sorry I missed that the link with serial no. is in the original post, and thanks for not pointing that out to me -- very gracious!
I've concluded it's big for me, but it's a very nicely made frame at a reasonable price.

  • No worries and thanks for the kind words. It's a lovely frame. Hopefully someone will buy it!
