Does someone know where to find the elusive SP PL-8X (centerlock brake with 15 mm axle)?
-
• #805
Not sure where to post. Anyone use an E-werk? Built a customer bike with it/SP/Edelux. He did LEL on it and now it's stopped doing it's thing even when plugged it independently. No output whatsoever.
Any way of testing said output? -
• #806
Not used one but I didn't buy one because everyone who seemed to own one said it shit itself.
No output so what do you want to test? It doesn't work, just send it back, no?

Has anyone purchsed a 15mm bolt-thru SON hub, and if so does it come with an adapter for QR as the Shutter Precision does?
-
• #809
If not I presume I could just use one of these?
-

Yup, now off and confirmed as lesser value than a paperweight. I'm pushing him towards the Igaro as he needs a reliable setup for TCR.
@russmeyer forgot I had one of these, thanks for heads up. Now tested and fully kaput.

Yeah, the D1 and Sinewave and maybe PlugIII are the only ones I'd consider. They've all been used successfully on TABRs and TCRs

Anyone used the SP 9-series? How does it compare with the 8X type hubs? Smaller and lighter but presumably doesn't use bigger bearings like the X-treme hubs?
-

Ooooooohh
-
• #815
Or you could use these for a fraction of the price?
-
• #816
But how does they work?!

Mag... wait a minute...

"For some of my customers, the tiny friction-reliant spade connectors in their wiring would seize, or come loose, or fatigue and break after just a few trips."

That's not a spade connector. They call those bananas or bullet connectors in Finland, not sure about the rest of the world. Widely used in for example motorcycle electronics. To me those magnets just look an expensive solution to non-existing problem.

But magnets!

And you have to push banana (?) connectors together, with hands that don't work in the pissing rain. I'm (prepared to be) sold on magnets.

That's what my thoughts were, pretty bullet connectors are fine until it's 6am in January and your fingers are numb.
Still a bit spendy though when you have two bikes running Dynamo lighting.
I'll have a 110/120 stem. Was probably going to have the igaro under the stem. Gonna have to think about how i want my cockpit and the front light to set up.
Is there a particular splitter that is well thought of? A link would be appreciated cause I've literally no idea what i'm looking for.
As for powering up the hills - not a huge problem as I'll have a head torch with me that I can whip out if the front light isn't working.
