I worked in a machine shop years ago - one of the guys there had facial and arm scarring, and a pronounced limp from doing silly things with retractable measuring tapes around power lines. Lightning strikes are more forgiving. Haven't thought about him in years.

One of my cousins was electrocuted playing on top of the trains in Ilkley.

The kids has been used to doing it before the tracks had the overhead electrification put in, so when they electrified it in 1995 the kids just went to play as they had before. He bumped into the wrong wire.
