  • Picked up a Concorde Colombo last week for cheap because i wanted a geared bike next to my fixed bike.

Seatpost was too small for me, frame is a bit too small but i can deal with it, it's too hard to find a bike in my size for a reasonable price.

Probably gonna swap out the bars, right now it has got Cinelli's, but the reach is way to big for me. Same with pedals, looking for some flat ones because it will be used for everything.

Built up with Miche hubs and cranks, Mavic MA40 rims, Campagnolo front derailer, shifters, Shimano Exage? rear derailer, Exage brake levers and Modolo brakes.

Don't wanna spend too much on it as it isn't the greatest bike, maybe swap out the bars for some flat ones and just use it as my commuter but i'll see, gotta get it running smoothly first.

  • Also thinking about taking off the big ring as i never really use it, my legs and my lungs can't handle it :p

I also have a Shimano Deore rear derailer laying around, which i guess would be better quality than the exage. Would it be possible to swap these around? Or is the deore only usable on a MTB? It's a 6 speed rear wheel by the way. And if i would decide to keep the front big chainring, would it be possible to swap out the old Campagnolo derailer for a newer Deore XT?

  • @TweeMeter How much did you pay out of interest?

  • 130 euro's, but i'm probably replacing a lot of stuff so i think the end result will cost me around 250.

  • Bit of a bargin. Good looking bike

  • Currently looking like this:

Thinking about taking off the cable guides and left downtube shifter boss, might wanna set it up with gears some day so i'll keep the right one. Maybe even stripping the paint and giving it a clear coat, because the paint is already in pretty bad shape, with some big blank spots where rust used to be. Also looking for a new fork with cantilever mounts and a bit more clearance for a knobby tire when winter is coming. Any advice on taking off the mounts, or should i leave it like this in case i ever want to sell it?

Edit: maybe even respace the rear to 120, right now it's 135 and it's a pita to adjust my chain.

  • I removed my cable guides and im happy about it. also removed are gear shift mount. (and everything else. even the rear gear deleriur <- can't spell it.

If you love your bike, give it a concorde fork ;)

  • i like the pdm paint scheme, even if it is ratty.

I personally wouldn't, but you're not going to get big bucks for this if you ever sell it on so if the mounts really bother you, go for it.

    looks good anyway, subbed.

  • Yea it isn't the most expensive frame and i got it pretty cheap so i don't really care. I'll think about it for some time before i start cutting them off.

Also got this in the mail this afternoon, hopefully it's a bit more comfortable than the charge spoon that's on there now, just gotta get a normal seatpost now instead of this shitty thing that's on there now.

  • So much effort yet not changing the dropouts..

As for this one, don't butcher it.. leave the braze ons, you will regret it once you did it.
Also the rear should be 130 and can be squeezed to 120 quite easy.
As I said before, don't butcher it.. for winter get a MTB with knobby tyres, this frame hasn't been made for that.

  • The problem is my 40-fucking-inch inseam length, which makes finding a cheap, big enough frame nearly impossible. I'm saving money for a custom frame, but that will take some time so i figured i might as well fix this bike. I'll probably keep the braze-ons but maybe get a new fork if i find one in the future.

  • It's beautiful! Love the frame. Keep it and build it up.

  • So i decided to give the headset some new bearings and grease yesterday. Bought a set of ball bearings, but upon opening the headset i found it it has needle bearings..

So instead of replacing the bearings, i cleaned everything and regreased them, it's smooooooth as fuck again.

Anybody knows the brand of the headset? Or if there are replacement bearings for them? I couldn't find any name or text written on it.

  • Finally made a good picture too, trying out lightroom for the first time.

  • Looks ace mate. What crankset is that? Also what size are the tyres please

  • Crankset is the stock one i got from my Fuji Feather, is says vero-something. Tires are 32c schwalbe delta cruisers.
