Nice one, it seems to be a bit of a pain to acquire one of these but I'd definitely love to have one some day.
- rims - can't go wrong with boxed so depending on budget tb14 / opcd / excursion for example. if you wanna get silly, put that trispok you have lying around to use
- definitely keep the seatpost if that supertype is the alternative haha
- I don't know what kind of cockpit you're looking for but I'd go for pro chrome + carbon risers.

Black tb14s+silver spokes+silver jag
Woundups also look good on these if you can stretch to new forks -

sorry but have deal out some 💩 for the Da7600+zen combo and supatoughness..
you need an older slotted ring for that frame and supa is just fugly.da's to cd/black box rims w/ silver spokes would be nice. you can throw the supertype off a bridge(as we say in finland), i'd find an american classic for that one. if you happen to find the AC then a Ti flite as a saddle, otherwise Ti SLR.
+1 for wound ups. not the most original, but looks nice and will most likely make you enjoy the bike more.
what this needs is a black (open face) salsa, monkey lite risers and black grips but you probably won't find the salsa so go for some steel stem like the pro chrome with silver risers.

also thomson+slr/flite is always good choice.

no thomson needed on the gtb though..

You will make me have some regrets for passing my turn on this frame... I'm sure that you will build something nice!
I will follow this thread. -

Cheers for the replies guys. I'll follow this up tomorrow, been mad busy with different projects past couple of days. The GT build kind of has to go on the back burner, haha

THREAD REVIVAL
So as it so happened I broke my collarbone around this time last year the day I handed in (after of course). Irony is I did my final project on cycling.
Anyhow this build got put on hold and I've only recently had the funds to complete it to how I wanted.
I'll take some photos of all the bits today or tomorrow. The build has changed quite a lot. -

What ever happened to this project?

Hey @SuperMario, I still have the Wound ups for this project, trying to get the conversion kit that you told me about. The original steel fork steerer was too short for a CK headset haha
Anyway it look a little like this at the moment, Not super finished though
Campag Atlantas on DA 7600 which I quite like, wanted to keep it 90's looking.

I just don't keep this updated enough!
Also I think it's too big

There is not much seatpost showing, but the seattube is extended.. so if it fits you like this, it seems quite fine to me. Nice build!

I'd recommend some compact drops. The combination of little seatpost showing and a really deep drop on the bars looks slightly awkward imho which is a shame since the bike and all the components (except for the bars) are spot on!
Recently procured a GT GTB frame in a suitable size for me! And I've started getting a few parts off here from a multitude of friendly forumengers of LFGSS. This is a bit of a vanity project as the frame is in pretty good condition and I'm planning to try and keep it that way. Nice dry weather sort of ride.
Sorry for the shit photos, I'll get some proper ones taken once the build is properly on it's way.
As it stands I've got the frame, original forks w/Tange passage HS and original seatpost. Also unbranded quill stem and Ritchey ergo drop bars.
The components that I've bought are mostly drive train related but I've got other spares that I'll list here for different possible of configurations.
Drivetrain parts are:
And hubs to be built 32h front and rear:
Spares are as follows:
90's Fizik saddle that came with the frame / Selle Italia Flite Flow w/Ti rails (kinda huge for my small self) / Fizik Arione / Selle Italia Turbo / Possibly SI Carbonio Kit Flow (But I'm enjoying that on my Mash)
Nitto risers (cut down) / Nitto RB021 black. Although I definitely want some nice drops for this.
Miche supertype seatpost (which, tbh, is going nowhere near this build)
So at the moment I'm looking for a bit of advice/opinion about what to do next. What rims to lace to the DA's? Keep the original seatpost or not? Also cockpit advice, because I want to swap out the stem and bars for something a bit nicer.
I've got a fair bit of time to consider all of this, the weather isn't looking like it's gonna get better anytime soon. Time isn't an issue but money might be now as I've spent a fair bit on the components.
Any comments are welcome!
