Oh great, I hope he's not going to go the way France went: We have one asshole, let's bomb the shit out of everyone.
I agree the focus SHOULD be on renewables, but I have a very angry Canadian friend on FB who simply doesn't understand why the USA doesn't want a pipeline cos environment but is happy to buy ME oil. He's not entirely wrong.
Now if the government wants renewables but offers the jobs first to oil workers/ex oil workers/ex factory workers that can work too.
California invested a lot, created a lot of jobs, the model is just around the corner. If the USA needs to do a Norway and sell oil to invest in the change of infrastructure, so be it.
But perhaps Trump is going to get ME oil and local oil and just use up more and we are nowhere ;) And there's a strong anti science link in his mates. Cos...science is for experts and we hate them, until we need a doctor or a mechanic or another expert ;)
You wish.
Mr. Trump recognizes that we cannot tackle challenges, especially threats to our security, unless we define the problem in a way that American resources and instruments of power can be applied against them.
Not necessarily, the focus is (or at least should be) on renewable. Just hand the keys over to Elon ;)
There is a nice bit in here about anti-solar people in the states (2-ish mins in):
