A pair of Archetypes are £110, a pair of Hope Pro3s are about £190. For about £350 I would expect a pair of Hopes on Archetypes to be new.
These are not Hopes though, these are Chris Kings and a pair of non-ceramic Chris King R45s are about £640 on their own. Ceramic ones are more.
If he was basically paying retail price for second hand wheels that he'd never seen in the flesh, described as perfect, that's one thing. But he wasn't - he paid a realistic second hand price for 11spd Chris Kings, inspected them before making payment (which, for the record, was by eCheque meaning he had a week before the money cleared) and once he decided they were surplus to requirements/realised they weren't going to sell in a few days, tried to invent a reason to get a full refund.
If he'd turned round and asked for twenty quid back because he found a bit of cosmetic damage when he'd taken the tyres off, that would've been cool, but demanding a full refund because he can't be bothered to sell them on and suggesting that I'd deliberately misled him? Not cool.
