  • Got this off HerrJ

plan is to raise the rear bridge for clearance reasons, add mudguard mounts and rack braze on on seat stays, another set of bottle bosses, 1" threadless straight forks with mudguard mounts - get rid of the chrome and paint and redo with white decals and mustard paint - frame forks and stem....

  • Just buy a different frame.

    +1

    Mustard stem!

  • I've been contemplating that but decided against it.

  • r u srs? All that effort to make a nice frame into some random shit commuter. Get a pompino

  • Why? Buying a frame is more expensIve than mods?

  • Wurst fred eva.

  • don't fret - it's currently in its original form still
i'm not usually swayed by opinion polls however there's always a first time...
perhaps this needs more thought ..
    :)

  • you won't be able to fit decent size tyres with mudguards anyway, and if you run a longer fork it may make the handling weird.

  • Sell the Gazelle frame.

  • fuck it,
    thread fail / project fail
    money saved
    more research needed
    thankyou all

  • phew, this was close.

a gazelle is saved, god bless her.

  • i'm not sure what i was thinking!

  • I've learnt this lesson recently. If you think about changing a frame before buying it. Find something else

  • why don't you swap out the top tube and down tube while you are at it
cut off the braze on's and then swap the dropouts and shorten the forks by 20mm

  • Rename it "Trigger's Broom".

  • What size is the frame?

  • Good for you, for listening to others advice/opinions...Tis a lovely frame as is - Good Luck in your future projects.

  • as soon as i posted it here i knew i was going to get slaughtered but hey ho - brought me to my senses and looks like someone wants to buy the gazelle and a couple of pairs of my boots, enabling me to buy this for winter duty with a nice discount from the advertised price - all good

  • Now that's lovely! What are the plans?

  • Lower the brake bridge, take off the mounts and extra bottle bosses, change out the forks , strip the paint and have it covered in gold leaf.

Just kidding. Good choice and good luck with your build.

  • thanks - i'm probably going to get slated for this too...!
i'm going to swap everything over from one of my other bikes - gold king nothreadset, full record 10 groupset, fizik post and antares saddle, ritchey wcs bars , pdw mudguards and might look good with shamal milles but will probably use with mavic ceramic handbuilts .

  • one thing to keep in mind if you'll probably need long drop brake calipers

  • picking up the genesis tomorrow as courier left a card...
Gazelle will be going up in the classifieds - 150 quid plus postage costs/pp fees

  • What size is it?
