  • It's the capital of A Syria, no?

  • I'm not laughing, trust me. It's just becoming clearer by the day that a significant portion of the population are intent of fucking the world up and taking everyone else down with them.

  • It's why more rich voters voted for him, because they have the most to lose in a multi-cultural society

Reads like you're presenting it as fact when it isn't, you're entitled to your own theories of course.

As for a logical reason to vote Trump, I'd say wanting friendlier relations with Russia is a good one. Who needs a thermonuclear war? Clinton is absolutely hostile towards Putin and Russia, just take a look at the rhetoric concerning Syria.

There are plenty of reasons why I wouldn't have voted for him.

  • Colleague just got a text from her gay, half-Mexican friend in US army medics who is extremely happy HRC lost, so yes, Trump's demographic may be a bit wider than old white guys.

  • But this also may mean Putin can just barge in Ukraine and mainland Europe is in the shit again thanks to the USA.

[though I really don't like Clintons warmongering, I mean, come on Russia may have Putin as leader but most people there just want a job, and a bit of fun like all of us]

  • Not bad. Differs from the usual crap as these are his family members, making him pretty much compelled to symphatise.

    Also, 7 hour commute...

  • Fair, but 90% of white men over 50 made up his base. I know several LGBT people in the US who are all terrified of having a man who believes they can be 'cured' as VP (which in a Trump administration will basically be president).

Interestingly, 53% of white women voted for Trump, despite everything he's said about women in this campaign. Thoughts?

  • Why though? What were they so afraid of that Clinton might've done to the country?

  • There's been a lot worse said in The Football Thread and we're still here

I cannot express the idiocy of your statement. The failure of your imagination is your own problem.

The warning is valid and shouldn't be ignored.

  • Hasn't he done that already and the response from the current US administration and Europe was just sanctions.

  • Clinton would have done just nothing, a passively endless supportive keep going.... Plenty around wants destroy the actual system, and Trump, in a way or another, is more promising.

  • Correct, but Trump seems to be mates with Putin so he may try to creep into Ukraine more and more.

The BUK missile fired against the air liner? Most likely Russia provided.

I understand nobody wants to start a war over it, but a USA that goes "meh" isn't ideal either I think.

Ultimately they tried to place missiles a little too close to Russia but we are where we are now, and Russia is in the EUs backgarden.

  • What exactly do you think they have enabled here? Promises of what exactly?

If you are a woman that needs abortion access, atheist, want anti global warming actions, this destruction of "the system" is of little use.

  • Some very detailed exit polls from NBC http://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2016-election/president

  • ^^They injected the subconscious with hopes of changes.

There is still a lot of people who is not bombarded with to much information that react only to their feelings, rather than from rational media information. Both sections are not really aware of the real reality that they are living, the only thing that they have in common is that they live to serve.

  • Interesting that Hillary got more votes.... got to love democracy!

  • Setting yourself on fire is also "change". Not disputing the talk works, but it going to come at a price.

Interesting piece. Some say trump didn't get that many votes, the democrats lost many to non voting and to third party.

  • In history all the big changes comes at a high price, I wish someone from the hard left could embrace this burden and going forward. But so far just moderate words with no chance of winning any election...

Regarding Trump, in the end he will may be just one of the many moderates keep going... He may had just gamble hard with speeches to win the election and then that's it really.

  • Trump just wanted to be President - the most powerful man in the world etc. I don't think he gives a shit about actually doing anything once he's there. The worry is the people around him that will be able to do what they want while he sits in the Oval office preening.
