This mornin was brutally cold.
What gloves are the go to?
Need something that'll let me use a touchscreen throughout the day. -
• #2053
Any one attempted the defeet merino gloves under some neoprene ones, assume they'd be too thick.
-
• #2054
I like the defeet merino etouch ones, but you have to be really careful when opening your bag as velcro rips holes in them very quickly.

Ive got a pair of those from about 4 years ago, still going strong and decent in most temps barring the extreme coldest.

Can I get Crane (Aldi) winter gloves anywhere else? Seems I've missed them this year.
-
• #2063
No idea about elsewhere. But our local store (St Neots) still had lights, etc. at the weekend. So I'll check later in the week, if you like. What size are you?
-
• #2064

Baggy is better than tight. Have room for a pair of liners underneath without pinching the fabric of the outer glove when you hold the controls.
-

I fully recommend silk liner gloves under whatever else you're wearing on your hands. No dead thumbs and index fingers yesterday morning after 4hrs.

I've just ordered some Sturmfist 5s to replace a pair of these that I damaged. The lobsters aren't perfect but were the best gloves I've tried up to this point. My hands are always cold, (even indoors) and with liners these were comfortable down to about 2-3°c.

This too! My problem with the Craft thingies was that my thumb pressed into the end of the glove. Fingers were comparatively very long. Either the gloves or my hands have weird proportions.

Borderline Reynaud's sufferer here. Those Craft lobsters were disappointingly useless for me!
At the moment I get by with either Castelli Estremos or Rapha Deep Winters with merino liners. Neither option is perfect though.
Those Sturmfist 5s look interesting, claimed range of -9C to 2C? I bet I can still get cold fingers in them. :P

No joy, I'm afraid. One pair XS left, she says, and they were in the pile of rigger/work gloves.

Oh well - thanks for looking.
That's not a bad point I guess! Don't doubt that they're worth it, but a bit rich for my (cold) blood.
That said, I had to dig out my Craft lobster mitt thingies today for a 4°c commute, was still kinda numb for a lot of it :/
