We stopped at the course split at Newchurch, around 8 miles in.
Start was fairly flat with a good roll down onto the marshes, we topped out at 31mph downhill :)
Mixed bag of bikes, Steves old MTB, James has the Cube MTB and my Dolan.
I saw a few other mountain bikes, a couple wearing jeans, very few with mudguards and racks, overall it was a very sporty lycra affair with several Dentists out there. I did get passed by a green steel single or fixed so i wasn't alone.
The goal was to get James round in one bit as he has never cycled this far before. I reckoned 2 - 2 1/2 hours to get round.
