It's one of many variants which pre-date the adoption of the symbol by NSDAP. It's not even very similar in form, unlike, say, the American version worn by Escadrille Lafayette, among others. If people can't tell the difference, that's a function of the stupidity of the observer, not that of the person who painted it on his bike.

I read an article about a guy who was trying to 're-claim' the swastika. Had tons of the things tattooed all over himself. Got beaten up an awful lot. Also got bought drinks by people you'd rather not get bought drinks by. A noble sentiment though.

If people can recognised it as a swastika, then it's probably not a good thing to have displayed openly in the first place on account of, y'know, the recent history.

Edgy as fuck though

Just when I thought I had my the frame for my next build sorted with a Duell Advantage, this one came up for sale.

It is a Marschall Alamo made from Noblex stainless steel. Although the geometry doesn't look exactly attractive, it fits me like a grove with its 58cm top tube and 24cm head tube. Just hoping it will look better with different parts on it, because it is a bit of a mess now.

With the seat a bit higher and a normal stem it will already look way better. I like the duell more though.

It's 70 years ago, people need to get over it. Not to mention that Stalin on his own, leaving other Soviet leaders out of it, murdered more people than Hitler, and people don't get on their high horse about people displaying the actual flag of the 1930s Soviet Union as retro chic.

Dimensions wise I prefer the Duell too, but otherwise I prefer the Marschall over the Duell. The oversized stainless tubing with the satin looks so nice. Hoping a different stem and seatpost and maybe a second bottle cage will make all the difference.
