Right, 650b rims, there was some talk about this but what is the best metal, tubeless ready 650b rim for this application?
-
• #32
It's all about 26 these days.

DT Swiss XR331?

someone was suggesting the WTB rims to me elsewhere

Kom i21 IMO .. what tyres are you planning to run?

speak of the devil...

650b 42c road tubeless is a tall order atm .. the new panaracer gravel king is supposed to be released in tubeless variant and they currently have a 650b 1.75" that came in at 40mm on 19mm internal width rim that I have. WTB Horizon are tubeless at 47c. But for 42mm I'd say go with KOM i23. 25mm internal on road is uncharted territory for me; might be a paint to get tyres on. There is also Easton ARC that come in 24mm variant. If you want the #baller carbon then WTB Ci24.

Ci24 is 8g lighter than the i25, and £300 more expensive.

We'll be using the Kinesis Tracer as a stop gap until Super Secret Fork arrives, can anyone comment on getting a 47 WTB horizon into a tracer?

Columbus futura gravel?
-
• #45
If I extend your sentence I get "Is the SSF a Columbus Futura Gravel?" Or "47mm will never fit in a Tracer, use this Columbus fork". Which one is true?
-
• #46
use this Columbus fork
This unless is max gainzzz talbot but also if you want to test the tracer I have 650b 1.75" tyre combo wheel (15x100 tho).

Ok, I think the rims are sorted, tyres (hopefully) on order, front hub also, now I need to choose a rear hub - 28h, single fixed, well sealed, and would match a SON dynamo hub tolerably well - what fits that bill?

If you can live with 4 more spokes ..

Apologies, I read it as single (speed). Few here: http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/135mm_fixed_hubs/c21.html
TIG uses less material and doesn't have all the post-weld cleanup that brazing does. Brazing looks nicer, of course.
This is (from memory) largely 853, I'll get a full list off Matt. Frameset cost I'd also have to check as due to #thanksbrexit materials prices are in flux.
