Do they really look that bad?
Gonna hit up PC world tonight and see if I can see how it all looks in the flesh.
Even if the peripherals are shite, a couple hundred quid max should buy me a nice keyboard and touchpad - I'd probably want the Apple trackpad thing if I got the iMac and that'd be another couple hundred quid anyway.

You are quite correct about the Fusion drives, they are a 64gb (maybe even less? They downgraded them recently, my older one is 128GB) SSD and a normal 1TB spinner... its possible to split them (which I ended up doing for a bit).
It's also possible to make your own in terminal. Takes about ten minutes. Why anyone would pay for one is beyond me.
If you were running OSX on that HP you could combine those two drives into a fusion drive in minutes.
Wait for the new iMacs that'll be able to run better fart apps or buy this
and be a over grand better off?
The HP is £1k cheaper than current similar spec iMac but prices are almost certain to be higher on the new model ones eh?
Infact, the HP comes with 16gb of memory, if I upgrade the iMac to that the difference is almost £1200. The HP also has more video ram, upgrade the imac and the difference is closer to £1500.
The only possible downgrade in spec with the HP is that it runs 2 hard drives, a 128mb ssd and a 2tb regular drive whereas the iMac has one fusion drive but that's just pretty much the same thing isn't it?
