Well the date code is 93 and when checking velobase the 1st gen runs from 88-91 and the 2nd gen 92-94. I just based it on that but am not an expert

Well I'm afraid your interpretation of the date code is wrong, as Velobase is (on this occasion) correct.

Please find below extracts from the '91 and '92 catalogues.

You can further confirm which version they are, by looking at the Velobase entries for the cranks.
