With a name like yours, surely you should be jumping over the washing machine?
Which should be in flames, natch.

It's the Falls Road, not THE most welcoming area to the rozzers. I don't want to bug them with any tiny event like that. I would have had to stop, take photos of the shits and I was on the way to the gym for a training session with people waiting, so didn't want to be late.
It's happened to me a few times, it's always small stones, not bricks and it doesn't escalate into bigger things. I just want them to wise the bap up and don't do that shit, but if I call them wee shits, I've lost that game ;)

And throw rocks at ambulance/fire engines...
Not exactly something that's happening in Malone/Stranmillis/Lisburn road, no doubt they've bad parents/eggs over there too, they just don't throw stuff at a random cyclist.

A good attitude.
You wouldn't want to have to ride in one of these for all sorts of reasons!

Hah that would confuse all motorists as a bonus :)
Is that a riot police cyclist? No wait, that's not a PSNI bicycle...errr...

Filtered literally the entire way from Tottenham to Waltham Cross on the way home. No idea what the problem was, but it was tedious.
Also, first ride in my Lusso 'Nitelife' bib longs, they've got some reflective stuff woven in to the shin panels all the way round, looks a bit like you're wearing chainmail football socks, but I did actually get given more room than usual, so I guess they work.
Oh and I exchanged a nod and smile with someone On Here (or at least in the lfgss strava group) in Tottenham and got a nice comment from him on Strava, so hi!

Apologies to the guy who's wing mirror I smacked inwards. Your being in a bus lane, trying to undertake someone, getting stuck then slowly pulling into me while not indicating but looking straight at made me really angry.
Was a bad reaction, but still fuck you cus learn to drive.
Feel better now.

I did the same the other night to a jerk in a white truck who tried to crush me into a bus after failing to completely over take me on city road. I offer no apologies and responded to his honking with the old one finger salute. Felt good.

Did a few hill reps on the way home last night and I had to laugh at the white van man who had to overtake me 50m out from the bottom of the short hill, which coincides with a junction...I was descending at approx. 30mph and so far into primary that he almost hit the curb on the opposite side of the road. Must try harder!

Bus broke down on london bridge. Queue traffic and tail backs. Had to walk over the bridge

It was more to get it out my head rather than any real form of apology :P

• #15343
Hey! Kept an eye out on the way home but didn't spot you, did you see any possible cause for the terrible traffic on your way into town?
-
• #15344
The MGIF effect.
I was overtaken last weekend while doing 36mph in a 40 limit, descending on wet roads towards a queue of slower moving traffic.
Lots of people don't really think things through :-(

• #15345
Hey! Did not see anything than usual traffic. I took the a1055 up to totty hale instead. Fancied a change bit eurgh though. What time do you usually leave? Ive been leaving earlier than usual at about 1630 give or take
-
• #15346
Ah, depends what time I can make myself get up, it's about 2hrs each way so if I'm out the door at 7 I'll be on the way home at 5 or thereabouts.
Never know which is gonna be best with A1010 and A1055, I've filtered the length of both, but rarely seems to be any rhyme or reason to the traffic.
Good effort on your commute, by the way! Do you ride it 5 days a week?
-
• #15347
Yeah thats true. Once you get to seven sisters its clear down the a10 through dalston, alternatively turning right up the a503 to finsbury.
For the a1055 i use cycle lane instead. The road i find busy quite tight with the lorries and the road bumpy.
Cheers, yep 5 days.

Ride in.
Turd hiding in fallen leaves, found that all right. 1xclose pass.
Ride Home.
No turds but avoided the now flat-pack-rat, my cat might have cleaned my bike if it came in covered in rat gore. Getting cold but stopped raining before i set off home, which was nice. -

Ride was lovely apart from two annoying moments. Cruising at a leisurely 46:18 type pace, enjoying the serenity of silence riding fixed brings some sweaty mamil decides to sit on my back wheel coasting with THE LOUDEST FREEWHEEL. I do the slow down and down and down willing him to overtake me....Nope. Am forced to accelerate hard to drop him for a wee while before letting him go first at the next set of lights. Tool.
Then, National Express coach nob head does the most protracted slow mo left hook I've ever experienced going along embankment. Managed to call him out on it politely at the lights he got caught at. Didn't seem impressed with me not swearing at him. I think he wanted more aggro.
Didn't let it bother me too much. Enjoying the dryness of Autumn so far. Nice commutes and the leaves go even nicer colours when it doesn't rain.
