  • The CS1 route across the junction of Old Street and Great Eastern Street is absolutely awful. It needlessly sets up cyclists and pedestrians in conflict. I'm sure this has been done before, but it annoys me every day, twice a day.

True, it's an extremely poor scheme full of mistakes. Hackney Cycling Campaign weren't consulted about it until it was too late.

  • What about the city road crossing from Featherstone street to Leonard street? Not to mention the deathwish cyclelane it goes onto.

  • You're getting old and cranky, give it a couple of years and you'll mellow back down again. This will coincide with a move to the 'burbs so you can enjoy growing roses in your own shit.

  • Christ yes, it's awful.

  • I don't know that crossing, I carry on down Paul Street.

No surprise if it is appallingly thought out though.

  • getting

    ?

  • Utterly hilarious commute on Monday which I am just recalling now. Two cars cut eachother up at the "new and improved" Archway roundabout. The occupant of one car throws a full can of Ginger Beer at the other car. The driver of the second car gets out, calmly picks up the can and gets into his car before throwing it back. Both then carry on their way. C'mon guys, more proper fighting please.

  • Gentrification at its worst.

  • but was it organic?

  • The finest ginger beer comes in glass containers, not cans. That's what peasants eat from.

  • Yup, DHL vans turning from major to minor road and hit a motorcyclist.

    SMIDSY.

  • I suppose I was saying: report it to police so they can keep an eye on that spot, have a quiet word with the local scamps etc, not 'Clap Them Irons, Mr Bumble, and give them No Gruel'.

Then again, you live in NI right? Maybe calling the police is a whole big deal thing I guess.

  • No longer true.

Cans for posh beers. It's the future.

  • He's right you know. Best beer (from breweries big enough to afford canning) comes in cans not bottles. Do keep up.

  • Even Tesco Express have a chilled craft beer section now.

  • Although, this was a soda and small batch artisan sodas are generally bottled. I just googled it.

  • I don't feel as if I've been properly welcomed back to Belfast until I've had at least three things thrown at me. Certainly where my family used to live it was normal for children/teenagers to throw rocks at anybody/thing they didn't recognise.

  • CS2 can completely fuck the fuck off. Especially as the nights draw in. Yesterday evening was such a shitty ride home. Shitty riding by people incapable of sharing what little space we've been crowded into, oblivious - suicidal road crossing, left hooking cars, pot holes, raised mannhole covers.... fucking unpleasant. Summer is so much nicer when I can cut through Vicky Park. 3/10.

  • @benborp I blame the fussy eating

    /Alan Partridge Joke Klaxon

  • Seriously though, about the CSs. Leave them to the dayglo warriors, go on small roads.

  • Oiled deerskin pouch or GTFO

  • Yeah I try to avoid but Kennington to Leyton when Vicky Park and Tower Bridge are closed generally narrows the options somewhat.

  • Someone had abandoned a washing machine next to a bench in Folkestone Gardens, Deptford. Have you ever tried moving a washing machine? Who would drag one that far in to a park?

Inconsiderate f*ckers, I nearly hit it as I tried to improve my strava segment time.

  • nearly hit it as I tried to improve my strava segment time.

Have you considered not improving your strava segment time in a built up area?
