Whitesnake and Thin Lizzy headlined yesterday at Ramblin' Man Fair, Mote Park, Maidstone Kent.
Epic stage sounds, guitar solos, drumming solo, crowd were mostly mid 50s. Great evening, whole family left with huge smiles. Their first festival ever.

Band called KYKO playing a live gig at the moment at Camden Lock;
sounds really good, but for anything more than a sneak peak you'd need to be an 'industry insider';

Listen to KYKO on @AppleMusic.

So, who else is grabbing Phil Collins tickets? It'll be great fun...

Field Music last night, Shĕ Bu Empire, brilliant.
Not only were the tunes of a really high standard, it was a joy to not have the gig obscured by a sea of phone screens.
Would recommends.

I saw them in Brighton earlier in the year, they're really great.
It's amazing how they manage to sound almost as tight live as they do on record, which is saying something.

Too right, a really talented group, nice to have the live strings and horns too.
I also liked how they played their big tunes (for me anyway; Disappointed and Noisy Days are Over) early on, it meant I wasn’t waiting for them and genuinely enjoyed hearing the other songs I didn’t really know.

They played six songs on Marc Riley's 6 Music show last week, which is worth listening back to.
Disappointed is such a great song.

Only Manchester in the UK though. Also, £82.50 a ticket. Fuck me.

No one has picked this up from the metal thread - I have a spare for Hark and Black Tusk on Thursday.

After seeing them at the roundhouse for £45 i cannot believe this price
-

After seeing them support Kingmaker for £4.50 I too cannot believe this price.
-
• #1321
this was this year though!
-
• #1322
But Kingmaker aren't even touring, I'm not even sure they are still together. What do you want? Miracles!

I'm lost

Tell me about it.
I was on holiday when that was on last year so missed it. -

I used to go to a lot of punk gigs way back in the 1980s. And saw this band live at the Canterbury Arms pub in Brixton in 1989. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HGQaGg3OxFw
I haven't been to any gigs since 1991 though. Unless you count free gigs played in parks at free events. There used to be a couple of free festivals in London parks each year where bands used to play for free. I saw the Specials play at one way back in 1997 in Victoria Park. And saw the Buzzcoks at one in Finsbury Park in 2006.
Cool. Looking forward to seeing This Is The Kit http://thisisthekit.co.uk/index.php
She's the sister of my work colleague.
See you there ;)
