Thanks so much for the wheel info. I have Mavic rims at present and like them.I was always told Mavic and HPlus sons ? made decent rims that were strong and really good quality... I am looking to replace the rear one in the next year or so. Is going for a carbon one worth it or stick to aluminium?

Hi Tim, Cool bike! The dropouts look unusual, like there are two positions rather than fork ends. What's the thinking behind that?

I think I actually spotted you on CS7 around Clapham a couple of weeks ago. My first LFGSS celebrity spot ;) I'll give you a wave if a see you again.

On the subject of rims - I'm no expert but I think carbon is generally considered best for super-deep aeros and aluminium alloy is still best for normal everyday use. Metal always wins for durability and personally I don't have the money for high-end carbon or low end carbon and reconstructive dental work.

The drop outs are sliding ones. The brief was fixed gear but mudguards, so by having sliding drop outs you can move wheel to account for chain stretching and as they slide but are vertical you can remove the wheel from below and no affect on mudguards which might have been a problem had I gone for track drop outs.

Yes guilty as charged I'm often about in Clapham and other parts of Sarf Babylon-don.

I hear your advice on metal being the one for durability....

Tiny dirt drop bikes are so. good.

Epic electrically assisted cargo bike with some kind of fancy suspension thingamajig so it leans into curves. The old guy riding it said cornering at 25 kph fully loaded was no problem.

Keep Pedalling in Manchester have a cross check in that colourway, think Armourtex did it for em. May do summat similar when I get mine back off the eldest.
