I thought it looked too long as well. I'll search out a nitto. Good news on the no-judder. I wonder why they only drill the rear of the unicrown? I prefer fork mounted to be honest

There's no reason not to drill the front to. I'd be inclined to take the fork off and use a pillar drill working from the rear to insure it's lined up.

Yeah, On One said "Don't drill it" but as long as it's done well like you describe I can't see what harm it would do
