Shamal's as it will match up with the pinks on the frame nicely imo, Grammo stem, if not then a nice cinelli 101! Record 9 speed groupset! Titanium if you can just for extra bling! Flite saddle?

Thanks Wim, it rides beautifully. What stem would you recommend? I was thinking a grammo

no idea. As long as it's a quill stem I think it will be ok.

Changed the stem from Itm big one to a Itm Eclypse quill stem. The issue is that the quill stem barely enters the fork steerer and I think that this is due to the design of the Max forks.
It looks odd with so much stem and it's right on the stem limit at the top of the headset.
Is there a particular quill stem to fit the Max forks better or do I need to go back to the modern stem set as before.
Any advice is very welcome.

Did you clean the forktube? I never had an issue with my Mx Leader using quill stems.

Hi Wim,
No I didn't clean the fork tube, should I do that as a routine.?
The thread less tube was only in about 80mm. -

Did you check the tube? When I was racing back in the nineties, we sometimes putted 10 cm of wooden brush handle in the forktube as a "backup" in case the steel forktube would break (it kept everything in place, just long enough to stop your bike in a safe way).

All sorted, obstacle removed from fork tube. Thanks

Think this is a bike from 1991, no? I'd say a C Record with first generation ergopowers.

Picked up a partial Croce d'Aune groupset from @JeremyDaval and that will go straight to my Corsa Extra Team Stuttgart.

There's a corsa extra cx frameset for sale in Germany. Not sure if it's worth the money but it seems to be something out of the ordinary...

picked up an early Professional today (to take some panto parts from it and put them on my restored Professional). Will give it a good clean up, put new decals on it and than see what to do with it. Maybe just sell it with a huge markup so I can fund my Professional. :-)

Anyone ever seen a steel Merckx frame fillet brazed with a lugged bb shell? Trying to identify one I've seen for sale , its unpainted. it also has the seatpost bolt in the top tube like a Rossin performance frame. Merckx panto on the brake bridge and rear dropouts

Arcobaleno, Columbus Neuron tubing. Mid to late 90s and fairly rare it seems, I didn't find too much online about it when I got mine. Also came in a fully lugged version, ridden by GAN in the 90s if memory serves. Cracking frame, a definite favourite!

Great info thanks, would love to see a photo of yours?
And besides I've only just finished this Corsa Extra in Team ADR colours. Bought a couple of months back from here, stripped down, lots of tlc to the paint and replaced a few parts to complete the already part victory group. First ride tomorrow (albeit only commute to work). Bit big for my modest stance but nonetheless an achievable fit with a bit of adjustment.
