This junction is one of the nastiest in central London.
One of the twitter photos shows it was a German registered left hand drive lorry, bits of the bike still visible under the front bumper.
The driver being arrested on a 'suspicion' charge is not unusual in these circumstances. -

As too often before, terrible news.
Driver behaviour at this junction is often very poor, as it is such an eye of the needle.
Crash reports indicate that a pedestrian was killed there in 2008, and this is the first fatality since.

Guardian journalist Dawn Foster has just tweeted that there is a cyclist under an HGV outside Knightsbridge station. Paramedics currently at scene. Fingers crossed for them.
