  • 5.5" isn't massive, it's juuust right. How are you finding it?

  • Z5 innit, Z3s are like retro now, basically a 5110.

  • I have one of those. Pretty nice. I mainly use it for watching Plex and a bit of music and it's good for that. Takes 128GB microsd card ok.

  • nice but my god that's huge!

  • Thanks - that actually seems spot on.

  • The Pixel phone seems a bit pricey too. It was nice a few years back (galaxy nexus, nexus 4) when those phones were relatively affordable

  • Very nice. Good size and decent battery compared to my nexus 5.

  • There seem to be loads on Amazon?

Oh, upgrade, sorry, missed that. This is one reason why I separated my airtime contract and hardware.

  • Ta all. Found one.

Should be with me in a couple of days. Yay!

  • After a few months with Android, the only thing I still miss from iOS is the tick to-do list app. Any suggestions for a Android alternative?

  • Not trying to sound snide, but apart from the pretty colours, what does it do? Google Keep is a pretty decent option which ties into gmail and has a web interface etc etc

  • been using splendo free and basic but ok for to-do lists

  • True, it doesn't do a great deal. Simplicity is key here.
I quite liked that you only really had a couple of parameters and only two different windows. Easier to use on the go, hardly any navigation needed.

  • Keep has a pretty simple interface if you want to leave it as such, but with the option to add more options if you want (tags/lists/etc etc)

  • Yup, GoogleKeep is definitey a good replacement.

    Tanks forum

  • Does it work OK with an SD card? I've got the 10" Yoga 3 Pro Tab and SD usage is incredibly sluggish even for photos or comic reading. The rest of the tablet is great, but if you try to use the SD, it shits a brick. Tested with multiple sizes/makes of SD.

  • I haven't noticed it being slow. It's got over 100GB of video on there and it seems fine to browse and watch. I've not got any apps installed to SD so can't comment on that.

It's a pretty fast card, Samsung Evo UHS-1 (think that's the next above the old class 10)

  • So my second Nexus 5 properly started giving up on life about two weeks ago. I've had it opened and looked at by more than one person and there's no obvious or simple fix so today enough was finally enough.
Searched and scoured trying to figure out where to get another nos Nexus 5 to buy in London but couldn't. Looked for the 5x and the 6 but either availability was poor or the price was too high for an 'old' device.
Finally after much frustration I bit the bullet.
Will update more once I've gotten used to the Pixel.

  • They do look great but, nope... I'm gonna try and not get dragged into keeping up with tech anymore... Too many pretty guitars out there that I'd rather have... 😉

  • Once you manage to get to 12/18 months behind the curve it becomes much easier, you still get the upgrades, just a ~50% the cost of an early adopter. I seem to be at this point with video games too

  • Thanks. That's bloody annoying though; mine was close to 4x the price and any SD card access kills the tablet. Of well, I use it mainly as a comic reader, so it's not a massive issue.

  • I assume you've looked at the card, the old class 4 ones do seem slow.

    100â„… agree.

Just broke my 5x again. Fixed the screen last time but this time I dusted off my N5 and loaded 7.0 on it. As long as the battery holds up, I'm keeping it. Works just fine.
