  • I apologize for the confusion. No longer for sale on here as I fucked up on sticking to the rules. Now i know! Again, sorry :/

  • I just rediscovered this bike! So much fun with 35mm rims the 2.0 tires get so floaty.

  • Eighthinch - Butcher V2. A little american company that started making fixed gear freestyle frames like this one, and also other fixed/ss frames and parts. They closed down (i think) not too long ago though.

@Rodolfo nope its being sold locally.

  • Got a quote for the Titanium frame repair (from page 1). A guy willing to repair it for about £100. Sort of pricey (i think) after getting a quote from Dekerf Bikes in Vancouver for £50! But the cool because I'll be there to see/ help. His description of past experience being "iv done it before, but its tricky" didnt exactly comfort me.. Does 100 sound reasonable?

46cm cowbell 2 also just came in the post. Mmmmm nice and wide. Got a bit tempted to put it on my Titanium cross/ tourer but if im gonna go drops on that they need to be wider. So im sticking to wide sweepy risers on that.

Also got some 28c rubber. Anyone tried these? Should be decent on a bit of gravel and durability wise but hopefully not to sluggish on the road.

Ordered a wheelset from superstar components a while ago. Wide rims, cx ray spokes, 72 points of engagement, 1565g for the set.

They arrived, i was all stoked, then i realized one of the bladed spokes profile was all twisted. I tried straightening it up using my spoke key and adjustable wrench as a bladed spoke holder, but the spoke wouldnt budge inside the nipple. long of the short: ended up snapping the spoke and totally bummed out. Wrote a novel to superstars service team and they didnt blink twice before arranging free return postage and sending me a new pair.

Just received the new set which im pretty sure is the original set with a replaced spoke. Regardless, i was so stoked i even made a video

After plunking it in the frame, i realized it was both laterally and radially out of true. And again! one of the spokes was twisted, making the bladed profile run perpendicular to all the others.

Sent them an email again, and now im getting them rebuilt with SILVER Sapim Race spokes, by their head wheelbuilder. So i guess this issue didnt initially get solved because they have machines truing the wheels and therefore didnt spot the twisted spoke? Anyways.. i dont really like cx ray spokes anymore (kind of irrational), and i think the silver will suit the build more. Unfortunate, but outstanding service!

last part of this ultra post: I feel like my rims might be too wide for my brakes. Are there caliper brakes or specific pads that better accommodate wide (19 internal) rims? My FSA gossamer brakes only had about 1 or 2 mm og clearance to the pad, without any cables attached. I found a little screw that could adjust the resting width a bit, but not much..

  • Went to visit relatives in the country side yesterday, and decided to give this velo orange crazy bar concept a go. Looks kinda wack but it was actually super nice. Have since angled them up a bit to match the angle of the stem, which was also more comfortable.

Heres some pictures for the ride, and their dog (and her brother) :)

  • Nice photos, which camera?

  • Tak! Canon 500d with 24mm pancake lens

  • Which grips are those? Looking for a comfy pair...

  • here u are:

They're really nice for daily use, but for multiday tours the outside "heel" of your hand can get sore.

I use these for that. Sustainable grampa grips!

  • Thanks, i really need to sort this out quickly

  • Very inspiring photos.

  • Just did a week long tour on grandma grips, super comfortable.

  • Thank you. Glad to hear that :)

  • I saw pictures! Looked like an awesome trip.

  • What breed of dogs are those?

  • Those photos are lovely! Much editing needed?

  • White german shepherd. But without the low stance/ hind legs trait bred in, so their hind legs are much stronger, flatter spine and better proportioned

  • Cheers, i shot them all about a full stop under exposed so not much light work other than a bit of contrast. But played a lot with the colours, mostly turning everything down except for oranges, to make them pop! and then a fair bit of cropping and straightening for those shot while on the bike haha.

  • Joining alleyween later today?

  • Unfortunately not this time :( Friend's birthday party.

You at a checkpoint again, or will u be racing?

  • Broke my ankle 4 weeks ago, checkpoint baby.

  • Right! always breaking bones man.. Either balls too big for own good, or need to drink more milk

  • This makes more sense. Did a 75km ride with a couple of roadies today with this set up (swapped tires to kojaks), and was very pleased with the bars.

But damn a big basket/ bag in the front and old flexy af titanium isnt exactly a recipe for speed. Not to mention a hefty hungover and far to little sleep!
