It's a boat shaped hole in the sea that you're going to end up having to spend thousands and thousands on.
The upkeep is yuuuuuge.

But you could fit at least 2 bikes on board and sail & ride around the world.
I'm convinced and I hate open water, girlfriend hates the idea.

Yeah, I'll update this thread/the blog etc soon. I've not really been on the internet very much (borrowing my mum's laptop to post this!), living on the boat most of the time, trying to get things done. Making good progress, and we're looking at launching in the spring now.

Only just seen this via the CP thread, but wow.
You're planning to go around Cape Horn though? Have you seen the film Around Cape Horn? If ever a film has put me off trying something, it's that!

Hey, dunno how I've missed this thread. The boat looks amazing. Super jealous.
I'm sure you have seen it but this is one of my favourite Youtube channels.

Forgot about this after your old cp thread went cold, great to see all the progress made. Insanely jealous and very impressed by all your work. Doing this before it's too late (having kids/working to support family/getting too old to do stuff) is probably the best decision you're ever going to make!

Sorry for being terrible at the internet, I've been living on the boat most of the time, sans wifi. I just put a few photos on the tumblr page here:
ketch-annelis.tumblr.com
and I've been trying to make a bit of an effort with the facebook page here:

Mmhm. This is exactly the thinking. Why not do it now?!
Here's are a few photos showing where we are now...
Hull repairs all finished and epoxy painted
Interior is all coming together
and the deck is all finished and glass sheathed

@Sam_Doman
your project is amazing, well done. I only have day skipper and VHF radio licenses, but would love to join your adventure. And visit you in the new year for any planned sea trials, if you're heading to the Caribbean on your first leg, you can drop me off at Santa Marta, Colombia, otherwise I might be tempted to go 12-24 months, assuming you are heading to Galapagos, via Antártica Chilena Province then on to Hawaii. Happy to doing the cooking at sea with what ever is available, but no iceberg lettuce ;-)

A childhood friend has registered to do the Clipper round the world yacht race this year. 11 months at sea, departing from Liverpool in August.

He's definitely no posh twat and has almost no sailing experience. Said he was just fed up of doing 75 hour weeks so signed up and sold his house!
Met up for lunch today when he came down to London to get his US visa. Haven't seen someone look so stoked about something in a while.
